Conditions following joint-replacement operations
Have you just had a TEP operation = a hip, knee, or shoulder joint replacement? And do you need intensive, systematic and professional physiotherapy?
You’ll find all that here. We specialise in spa care for people who have just had operations, i.e. transfer from bed to bed, as well as spa treatment for those in the second stage, i.e. some time after the operation but no more than one year. The standard course of spa treatment lasts for 28 days. After an initial examination by a specialist/balneologist we focus primarily on improving the mobility of the joint in question, strengthening the muscle groups of the limb, and improving movement stereotypes by placing strain on the limb that has been operated on. The latest forms of therapeutic physical exercise are used, with emphasis on individual exercises, as well as on special exercise routines in the pool, group exercises for people who have had joint-replacement operations, and exercises using mechanical facilities – the motor splint, the exercise bike, the gym, etc. We use phototherapy to speed up the healing of operation incisions, magnetotherapy to ease pain, and various baths as adjuvant therapy.
Average number of procedures per day: 3-4 depending on the patient’s condition and tolerance.
